THE Jesus Kitchen (an arm of CPAI) is an outreach of the Church that reaches out to the underprivileged by providing them with food and as well, feed their souls spiritually. As an outreach, we are designed to be an example of Christ, showing his love and compassion.
Our main aim in the kitchen is broken down as follows:
1.To assist the vulnerable members of our church and the body of Christ in general with their basic needs.
2. To offer encouragement and inspiration to disadvantaged people and their families, yet preserving their sense of dignity and purpose through our focal scripture is Galatians 6:10.
3. To gather souls into the kingdom of Christ through the provision of food for the poor and needy.
With the rate of unemployment on the rise and many holding jobs that pay less than the minimum wage; Sadly, food is now a “luxury item” for many families. While some may be able to pay rent and manage with their utilities, but their meagre budgets do not adequately provide for simple necessities such as food.
The Jesus kitchen is open daily and serves one cooked meal a day between the hours of 10.30am and 12 noon. The kitchen also supports families (members of the church) with raw food materials sufficient for a month to feed a family of four.
To uplift people and give them a better sense of worth
To shower the abundant love of Christ on the less privileged spiritually and physically through the provision of food.
Share the love of Christ with the less privileged and be a resource for the homeless, physically and mentally challenged, elderly, lonely and poor in Lagos, providing free hot meals and creating a sense of belonging and COMMUNITY.
Aid the poor and needy children and families through the provision of food baskets which will last a month for HOUSEHOLDS.
We provide a continuum of services and support and give hope to people who have fallen on hard times and need extensive support and encouragement to rebuild their lives. The JESUS KITCHEN is an integral part of the CPAI.
To be the arm of God in this world of need and lack bringing hope, effecting change, touching lives and families one at a time
These core values define the Hope Centre and serve as our guiding principles.
We value a total dependence on God’s word, a growing love for God and His word and a serious commitment to prayer. Members of the department are committed to praying in the spirit with all kinds of prayers (Eph 6:18) as well as reading, confessing, meditating and doing the word.
The department recognises that furthering its mission is dependent on mutual respect amongst members, staff, volunteers, our recipients, supporters, and the wider community. We seek to develop and nurture partnerships, working together, helping one another, valuing and learning from one another and sharing responsibility.
The department operates in an open, honest and simple manner in the way we interact with one another, our recipients, our volunteers, our supporters and all with whom we come into contact. We endeavour to operate in a straightforward and uncomplicated manner based on respect and trust and listening with open hearts. Staff and members are expected to take responsibility for their action and their conduct must reflect the highest ethical standards.
